WORLD MUSIC TRADITION
Project

World Music Tradition is an Internet based non-profit project aiming to facilitate the WWW presence of Traditional Cultures and Traditional Music in particular. It also aims to provide a channel for interaction between the specialists and the general public. Here one may find some information on appearance, construction, sounds and playing technique of several traditional musical instruments. There is also information about people ivolved in the area of traditional music. Soon we are planing to add sounds and a lot of visual material to this site. There are also a lot of annotated links related to the traditional music and musical instruments.

This Project was established by N. Zhoukov and V. Maraev in early 1997. We started from displaying things in some way connected to our own work, but we hope that more people will join this project.
Please, participate in "World Music Tradition" project !
We want to make this project growing and therefore we welcome all to participate in this work. We can include your information to this site. It can be a short note in the Bulletin Board or Events sections or more extencive information in Makers and Performers sections. We would be glad to accept your essays on a particular musical instrument or collection or publish here your paper on Ethnomusicology. We are ready to put links to the sites related to Traditional Misic and different Ethnic musical traditions in the Links section of this site.
